Different Licenses for Free-Open Software


Open/free software items are mostly released under GNU GPL ver2 or under different versions of GNU GLP. Other licenses which are used are lgpl, gnufd, freebsd, open font license, creative commons. While the terms of different licenses may vary in details, the fundamental altruism is the same.

There are also other licenses like Apache, MIT, Mozilla, LPPL[LaTex]. Complete details of these licenses can be obtained from the respective websites.
