Chittor District is the souther-most District of Andhra Pradesh. It is bounded by Anantapur District in the northwest, Cuddapah District in the north, Nellore District in the northeast, Tamil Nadu state in the south and Karnataka state in the west. Chennai-Mumbai, Chennai-Delhi rail routes pass through this district. The district has good road connectivity covering neighbouring districts and states.

Tirupati has a good airport. Both Chennai and Bangalore are adjacent to this district giving good connectivity by air.

Two great shrines that must be visited - Sri Venkateswaraswamy Temple at Tirumala and Srikalahasti are situated in this district. The places to be visited - apart from Tirumala and Srikalahasti - are :: Gudimallam, Kanipaka, Madanapalli, Nagalapuram, Nagari, Palikonda, Suratpalli, Talakona, Tiruchanur, Tirupati, Tondanada.
