East Godavari District

This district was formed in 1925 when old Godavari district was divided into west and east districts. The district is bounded on the north by Visakhapatnam District, on the northwest by Khammam District, on the east and south by the Bay of Bengal and on the west by West Godavari District.

Chennai-Howrah rail link passes through this district. NH also goes through this District. Apart from NH , the district is well connected with neighbouring areas through good system of roads.All important towns in the district are connected by good roads.

Visakhapatnam is the nearest airport.
