West Godavari District
West Godavari District is on the western bank of Godavari. It is surrounded on the east by East Godavari District, on the south by Bay of Bengal and Krishna District and on the north by Khammam District. The roads are very well developed, connecting all places. The Kolkatta-Chennai rail line [ both main line and chord line] pass through this district. There is also rail line upto Narsapur. State Transport - APSRTC - is offering excellent road connectivity to all important places in the district. The National Highway connecting Kolkatta with Chennai also passes through this district.
The nearest airports are (1) Visakhapatnam and (2) Vijayawada.
